The instrument used in this study is the Self-efficacy scale developed by Oh(1994), the Quality of Life scale developed by Ro(1988), and the HPLP developed by Walker et al(1987).
Data was analyzed by the SPSS program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, t-test, ANOVA and Stepwise Multiple Regression.

Result: The relationship between self-efficacy, quality of life and health promoting behavior had a positive significant correlations. The most powerful predictor of health promoting behavior was self-efficacy. Self-efficacy and quality of life account for 43.1% of the variance in health promoting behavior in the elderly.
